Engineered exosomes for cancer theranostics: Next-generation tumor targeting
نویسندگان
چکیده
Exosomes are multivesicular bodies of which the plasma membrane fuse to release caring moiety into surrounding body fluids. They best known for their function in mediating intercellular connectivity by transferring various biomolecules, such as proteins, RNAs, and lipids, from one cell another. These “naturally equipped” nanovesicles could be therapeutically targeted or engineered drug delivery systems. The use exosomes cancer detection prognosis has attracted a great deal interest academics. In addition chemical, biological, genetic engineering approaches, other current exosomal alteration methodologies hold promise advancement therapeutic medicines cancer. this review, we highlight theranostic potential cancers.

Worldwide, about 600,000 head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) are detected annually, many of which involve high risk human papilloma virus (HPV). Surgery is the primary and desired first treatment option. Following surgery, the existence of cancer cells at the surgical margin is strongly associated with eventual recurrence of cancer and a poor outcome. Despite improved surgical methods...
متن کاملDendritic cell-derived exosomes for cancer immunotherapy: what's next?
Exosomes are nanovesicles originating from late endosomal compartments and secreted by most living cells in ex vivo cell culture conditions. The interest in exosomes was rekindled when B-cell and dendritic cell-derived exosomes were shown to mediate MHC-dependent immune responses. Despite limited understanding of exosome biogenesis and physiological relevance, accumulating evidence points to th...
متن کاملTumor Microenvironment Modulation via Gold Nanoparticles Targeting Malicious Exosomes: Implications for Cancer Diagnostics and Therapy
Exosomes are nanovesicles formed in the endosomal pathway with an important role in paracrine and autocrine cell communication. Exosomes secreted by cancer cells, malicious exosomes, have important roles in tumor microenvironment maturation and cancer progression. The knowledge of the role of exosomes in tumorigenesis prompted a new era in cancer diagnostics and therapy, taking advantage of the...

The uncontrolled rapid growth of diabetes represents a global burden. Subjects with diabetes are at increased risk of cardiovascular disease, including a higher case fatality rate in myocardial infarction or stroke. However, the underlying pathogenesis and distinct mechanisms of diabetic cardiovascular complications are not clearly understood, thus limiting the development of novel preventive a...

Background: Recently, modification of T cells with chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) has been an attractive approach for adoptive immunotherapy of cancers. Typically, CARs contain a single-chain variable domain fragment (scFv). Most often, scfvs are derived from a monoclonal antibody of murine origin and may be a trigger for host immune system that leads to the T-cell clearance. Nanobody is a spe...
